In this update of trend filters, we have added the ability to control the duration of the filter signals individually for each filter and the resulting signal.
Two parameters have appeared in the settings of each filter: SignalMinAgeBars and SignalLifeTimeBars
SignalMinAgeBars – determines the minimum number of bars with an active signal to activate the filter.
SignalLifeTimeBars – determines how many bars the signal will last, regardless of availability the filter signal.
We also added a SignalLifeTimeBars parameter that is responsible for the duration of the resulting signal based on your filter combination.
Using the example of the Bollinger filter, you can see how this parameter works.
The first screenshot shows a one-bar signal when the opposite Bollinger bands are broken.
In the second screenshot, we have increased the duration of the signal.
In this Multi trend alert indicator, the resulting signal is visible in the indicator window, in our other indicators, the filter will only allow signals in the direction of the resulting trend filter direction.
