Research Purpose

This initiative exists to document and analyze the actual trading conditions retail traders experience across global forex broker infrastructure. We collect metrics directly from broker-provided terminals — no simulations, no vendor claims, no marketing filters.

Our goal is technical transparency: to provide raw, comparable data that helps traders understand the environment they operate in, independent of broker messaging.

Non-commercial notice: This research contains no promotional content, affiliate links, or broker recommendations. Data is presented as observed.

Collected Metrics

We continuously poll broker servers via terminal connections to capture:

Spread Data
Min / Max / Avg / Live
Swap Rates
Long / Short / Rollover
Commission Structure
Per lot / Tiered / Fixed
Price Feed Latency
Tick-to-terminal ms
Symbol Availability
Active / Hidden / Restricted
Server Location
Geo-IP / Ping Mapping

Methodology

Data Source Terminal API polling via authorized retail accounts

Frequency Real-time + scheduled historical snapshots

Validation Cross-terminal verification, outlier filtering, timestamp alignment

All data reflects conditions as delivered to end-user terminals. We do not modify, interpolate, or "clean" observations to match broker documentation — discrepancies are part of the findings.

Intended Use

This dataset supports:

• Algorithmic strategy backtesting with realistic execution assumptions

• Comparative broker infrastructure analysis for institutional due diligence

• Academic research on retail market microstructure

• Personal trader education on hidden cost factors (spread volatility, swap asymmetry, etc.)

We do not rank, endorse, or criticize brokers. We report what the terminals report.
